NetworkPerformance Intelligence – establishinga platformon Big Data, BI and analyticsto proactively monitor
Verizon’s wire linenetwork – one of the largestnetworks in the world. This is a projectfrom the scratch and involved
standingup a team, trainingin the new technologies and architecting/ implementing a solution to capture the
metrics, monitor the performance againstKPIs and alert/alarmfor any anomalies. The projectis builton Oracle
Exadata and OBIEE, the data repository is in Hadoop.
Network Analytics and reporting – Leading an effort which is part of a transformational initiative called NeXT, the
objective is to capture all the operational metrics from the various OSS systems and present exec dashboards, as well
as detailed drill down capabilities for the consumption of Business groups to make right decisions. The application
provides multi dimensional views of the various metrics for the Service Delivery, Service Assurance, Operations and
maintenance groups of the Network. It involves providing KPI views based on Verizon standards as well as market
competitive intervals.
Data Masking: Conceptualized, designed and developed a web based application to implement a data masking
strategy across the organization to create and make available secure data for the development a nd test teams. This
application allowed users to request data from any source – files, logs, data bases etc. from prod to development on
demand and the data gets masked before it is copied. This project went through rigorous corporate security reviews,
was part of CIO initiative and had a patent for high security masking algorithms. The project is built on Java/J2EE and
C++ platform.
Verify: Implemented a web based work flow system for the receipt, processing, dispute and payment of invoices from
telecom companies for leased circuits. This system accepts invoices , takes them through the validation and approval
of the auditors, allows the auditors to raise disputes and make payments. The system processes invoices worth $5
Billion per annum. This is a projectthat used the JSF/Rich Faces with Oracleas DB.
Traffic Mediation: Led a large team of professionals to architect, design and implement software for capturing the
usage data of the Verizon voice and data traffic, edit, enhance and make them bill ready. This covers all types of
products including TDM, VoIP, IP VPN and dedicated. The traffic includes wholesale, retail and enterprise customers
and involves processingmore than 10 billion records per day,the software used high performance C and C++ in Linux.
