Banning junk food in schools has been debated for over a decade. While it aims to improve student nutrition and health, eliminating junk food sales also removes a key source of funding for school programs. The thesis argues that a junk food ban in schools has both benefits and drawbacks, as schools rely on vending machine sales but such foods are unhealthy. Parents must recognize this tradeoff between nutrition and finding alternatives to replace lost vending machine revenue.
