7. Essar Steel
• Essar Steel is a global producer of steel with a footprint covering India,
Canada, USA, Middle East and Asia.
• Current capacity of 14 million tonnes per annum (MTPA).
• It is a fully integrated flat carbon steel manufacturer from iron ore to ready-
to-market products.
• Operations in India: Hazira, Pune, Vishakhapatnam, Paradip, Dabuna,
Bailadilla.
• Essar Steel aims to double revenue to INR 40,000 crore in 2013-14 from
INR 18,000-20,000 crore in 2011-12

8. OIL & GAS
• Largest coal bed methane (CBM) player in India
• Over 1,600 Essar-branded oil retail outlets in various parts of India
• Fifty percent controlling stake in an 80,000 bpsd refinery run by the Kenya
Petroleum Refineries Ltd (KPRL); the remaining 50 percent is owned by the
Kenyan government

and being progressively expanded to 18 million tonnes (375,000 bpsd) and
