MPPT Control for maximum efficiency combined with temperature compensation for a wide range of
operating temperatures. Suitable for standard Lead-Acid Batteries, as well as Gel, Sealed and Flooded type.

INTERODUCTION
These PWM & MPPT Solar Charge Controllers are just awesome. There DSP (Digital Signal Processing) &
Micro Controller Based Design help us extract the maximum available power from PV module by making
them operate at the most efficient voltage (maximum power point). These MPPT & PWM Solar Charge
Controllers checks output of PV module, compares it to battery voltage then fixes what is the best power
that PV module can produce to charge the battery and converts it to the best voltage to get maximum
current into battery. It can also supply power to a DC load, which is connected directly to the battery. They
are high quality designed and field tested DSP & Microcontroller based PWM & MPPT Solar Charge
Controllers, so I changed all my old Solar Charge Controllers with PWM & MPPT based Solar Charge
Controllers.

SOLAR CHARGE CONTROLLER
There are two types of solar charge controller
1) PWM ( Pulse Width Modulation ) 2) MPPT ( Maximum Power Point Tracker )
A Solar Charge Controller or Charge Regulator is basically a voltage and/or current regulator to keep batteries
from over charging. It regulates the voltage and current coming from the solar panel going to the battery.
A charge controller, charge regulator or battery regulator limits the rate at which electric current batteries. It
prevents overcharging and may protect against overvoltage, which can reduce battery performance or
lifespan, and may pose a safety risk. It may also prevent completely draining ( deep discharging ) a battery
life. The terms Charge Controller may refer to either a stand- alone device, or to control circuitry
integrated within a battery pack, battery- powered device, or battery recharge.
A charge controller, or charge regulator is basically a voltage and/or current regulator to keep batteries from
overcharging. It regulates the voltage and current coming from the solar panels going to the battery. Most
"12 volt" panels put out about 16 to 20 volts, so if there is no regulation the batteries will be damaged
from overcharging. Most batteries need around 14 to 14.5 volts to get fully charged.
PWM SOLAR CHARGE CONTROLLER
• Pulse Width Modulation (PWM) is the most effective means to achieve constant voltage battery charging
by adjusting the duty ratio of the switches ( MOSFET ). In PWM charge controller, the current from the
solar panel tapers according to the battery’s condition and recharging needs. When a battery voltage
reaches the regulation set point, the PWM algorithm slowly reduces the charging current to avoid heating
and gassing of the battery, yet the charging continues to return the maximum amount of energy to the
battery in the shortest time.

• This charge controller can be used for :

• 3. Cell phone charging
MPPT SOLAR CHARGE CONTROLLER
• MPPT stands for Maximum Power Point Tracking. MPPT charge controllers used for extracting
maximum available power from PV module under certain conditions. Look at the image
shown above. We have seen that the maximum power point (MPP) of a solar panel lies at the
knee of the current and voltage curve.
• A 12V solar panel is not really a 12V panel at all. Its really a somewhere in between 12V and
21V panel depending on what load is connected to it and how bright the sunlight is. The
panel has an internal resistance which changes dynamically with differing irradiance levels.
Solar panels will only deliver their rated power at one specific voltage and load, and this
voltage and load moves around as the sunlight intensity changes.

Our enhanced PWM & MPPT Solar Charge Controller are ideal for most solar systems, utilizes PWM & MPPT Control for maximum efficiency combined with temperature compensation for a wide range of operating temperatures. Suitable for standard Lead-Acid Batteries, as well as Gel, Sealed and Flooded type. In-built protection for short-circuit, overload and over-charging.
  • 2. INTERODUCTION These PWM & MPPT Solar Charge Controllers are just awesome. There DSP (Digital Signal Processing) & Micro Controller Based Design help us extract the maximum available power from PV module by making them operate at the most efficient voltage (maximum power point). These MPPT & PWM Solar Charge Controllers checks output of PV module, compares it to battery voltage then fixes what is the best power that PV module can produce to charge the battery and converts it to the best voltage to get maximum current into battery. It can also supply power to a DC load, which is connected directly to the battery. SOLAR CHARGE CONTROLLER There are two types of solar charge controller 1) PWM ( Pulse Width Modulation ) 2) MPPT ( Maximum Power Point Tracker ) A Solar Charge Controller or Charge Regulator is basically a voltage and/or current regulator to keep batteries from over charging. It regulates the voltage and current coming from the solar panel going to the battery. A charge controller, charge regulator or battery regulator limits the rate at which electric current batteries. It prevents overcharging and may protect against overvoltage, which can reduce battery performance or lifespan, and may pose a safety risk. It may also prevent completely draining ( deep discharging ) a battery life. The terms Charge Controller may refer to either a stand- alone device, or to control circuitry integrated within a battery pack, battery- powered device, or battery recharge. A charge controller, or charge regulator is basically a voltage and/or current regulator to keep batteries from overcharging. It regulates the voltage and current coming from the solar panels going to the battery. Most "12 volt" panels put out about 16 to 20 volts, so if there is no regulation the batteries will be damaged from overcharging. Most batteries need around 14 to 14.5 volts to get fully charged.
  • 4. PWM SOLAR CHARGE CONTROLLER • Pulse Width Modulation (PWM) is the most effective means to achieve constant voltage battery charging by adjusting the duty ratio of the switches ( MOSFET ). In PWM charge controller, the current from the solar panel tapers according to the battery’s condition and recharging needs. When a battery voltage reaches the regulation set point, the PWM algorithm slowly reduces the charging current to avoid heating and gassing of the battery, yet the charging continues to return the maximum amount of energy to the battery in the shortest time. • Advantages of PWM charge controller : • 1.   • 5. MPPT SOLAR CHARGE CONTROLLER • MPPT stands for Maximum Power Point Tracking. MPPT charge controllers used for extracting maximum available power from PV module under certain conditions. Look at the image shown above. We have seen that the maximum power point (MPP) of a solar panel lies at the knee of the current and voltage curve. • A 12V solar panel is not really a 12V panel at all. Its really a somewhere in between 12V and 21V panel depending on what load is connected to it and how bright the sunlight is. The panel has an internal resistance which changes dynamically with differing irradiance levels. Solar panels will only deliver their rated power at one specific voltage and load, and this voltage and load moves around as the sunlight intensity changes.
