1. Simple Tips to Purchase Goods or Services Online
This post throws light on how customers can buy online goods or services, and have a
satisfactory feeling about the purchase.
In today’s Digital environment customers want it both ways. They want in now, but they also want to trust who
they are buying their goods and services from.
It is easy for the bulk of today’s companies to get too focused on attracting business via the web and then totally
drop the ball when they generate a digital customer by having no plan or training when it comes to the customer
service side of the transaction.
We have all been put on hold for extended periods of time. More than we care to add up as it is literally days of
wasted time waiting for someone to come on the line and then we either find out we have to be transferred again
and placed on hold, again, or that there just does not seem to be anyone available to answer simple questions or
concerns about your transaction. Price is not everything. Quality of service is! Nobody wants to buy something
without being able to speak to someone live about it if they have an issue with the product or service.
Also do not forget who puts these digital domains (that look so attractive to us) together. These are tech savvy
people who may know all about what it takes to attract a customer but have no idea how to keep that customer
coming back via investing in the relationship for the long term.
So when you look to buy online or solicit goods and services online, here are a couple of tips to help you feel
better about your purchase.
2. Try to stay local: This means you can actually go to the place of business if you have to, instead of being
transferred around from an out so state company that knows you will never show up on your doorstep to speak to
someone in person. Local also means investing in your own local economy as well.
Stay away from completely automated service: Nothing more to say here except that “you get what you pay for” is
the rule of thumb here.
Take names: Even in a “Call Center” environment, if you ask the person’s name you are establishing a relationship
over the phone and you have a better chance of speaking to that person in the future should you have any issues
with your purchase or service. This can go a long way so try to get a name and extension up front.
Remember, it’s always your money and time and you should always hold those in the highest value as a consumer
in all aspects.
