5. Introduction
Safe City Project Dadyal started in May 2022. It was the idea to secure sub
division Dadyal.
Though AJK is a relatively peaceful region than rest of the country but the police
required the technological upgrade on immediate bases.
This project enabled Dadyal Police to make policing efficient with the help of
overseas community by using recent technology.

Fiber
 15 KM Fiber of 12 Core and 6 Core used from Sultani Chowk (Amb) to Sandal
Cross.
 This route includes all crossroads of the city i.e. Maqbool Butt Chowk, Bhatti
Chowk, Arra Chowk, Ketchery Chowk, Bhalot Chowk, Haideri Hotel, Zaman
Chowk, Siakh Chungi, Ratta Chungi, Ban Sabeela By Pass and Sandal Cross.
The fiber is connecting all the cameras and bringing the data to control room.
 Total 23 points are covered through this route of fiber by using 78 cameras.
 All 23 points can be watched live for 24/7 in CCTV Control Room at PS Dadyal.

Solar System
 10 KW Solar System installed at Police Station Dadyal. This system has 16
plates, 4 batteries of 12V 185 AH and 10KW solar inverter. This solar system is
providing 24/7 electricity to CCTV Control Room at Police Station Dadyal.
 5 KW Solar System installed at Dhan Gali police check post. This solar system
provides 24/7 power to the cameras installed at check post and also the
source of power to the post. This check post is in remote area where the
wapda electricity is not reached, so solar system is providing all the required
power at the check post.

16. How It Works
 Cameras have been installed at chowks, roads and streets provides the data
through Ethernet to the media converter. The media converter sends the data
to control room OLT through fiber. From OLT, the data is transferred to NVRs
and where the real time video footage is transmitted on LEDs.
 Through this system, all 78 cameras are being monitored live at control room.
 The electricity power to cameras at 23 different point is being provided from
neighboring houses and shops with the help of local community.

 8 NVRs are installed at Control room with the storage of 8TB each. The total
storage of data coming from cameras is 64TB.
 This storage is enough to provide the recording of a moment till fortnight.

19. Significance of the Project
 This project has created a deterrence for crime seeking mentality people. It
created a consciousness among them to avoid committing crime because the
presence of the CCTV cameras.
 It also helped the police to trace the offenders with the help of these
criminals.
 It also detected the movement of offenders, which helped in arresting them
and presenting them before law.

20. Significance of the Project
 A case study of the utility of this project occurred in terracing the murderers
of Waqar Altaf Advocate murder.
 The culprits were wearing police uniforms, mask and helment, and was on
Honda 125 motorcycle.
 The cameras installed at Haideri Hotel, found the offender and hence their
movement was tracked.
 With the help of these cameras, the culprits were found and arrested.

22. Significance of the Project
 Another case study is the recovery of misplaced documents of a person.
 This person dropped the documents near Population Welfare office.
 Our camera recorded the moment and then picking of documents by other
person.
 Then the other person is located and the documents reverted to the affected
party.

23. Recommended Up Gradation
 Though the cameras have been installed at entry exit points like Dhan Gali
and Pallack but they are not yet be monitored at Control Room. So, the
connectivity will be required to bring the cameras result on control room led
screen. Hence, Fiber needs to be deployed till the entry exit points, to make
the connectivity.
 It is also being discussed to make schools, colleges and mosques secure
through cameras. So, the proposed model is to ask the administrations of
these institutes to install the cameras which will be linked to the control
room.

24. Recommended Up Gradation
 In future, we also need to provide proper power to the camera points. We
have to install our own smaller solar setups to provide consistent power to the
cameras installed at different point, so we cannot be blank at any moment of
24/7.
