This document introduces Alessandra (Alii) Costello and her husband Stu, who have settled on an empty plot of land. Alii gets a job in oceanography while pregnant. Their daughter Arianna is born and Stu works to earn promotions. Alii gives birth to twin girls, Alisa and Amadora, without any of the family's genetics being passed on from the mother. The summary establishes the founding couple, birth of their first child, Stu's career progression, and birth of the twin daughters.
1. A Very Italian Selfacy Chapter 1: A very empty lot and a very blank title slide.
2. Hello and welcome to A Very Italian Selfacy – an alphabet legacy that breaks all the rules! Here’s rule break number one, a founding couple. Yes, COUPLE. This here happens to be my simself, Alessandra (Alii) Costello, and her husband, my real life boyfriend Stu. She’s a Libra, 2/7/2/5/9 Family sim LTW raise 20 puppies or kittens (lol no, but SO like me) Naturally blonde, green eyes and lightest skintone. He’s a Gemini, 4/7/7/4/3 Family sim LTW become minister of education (maybe) Brown hair, light blue eyes and lightest skintone. Hooray for variety!
3. And this is their, um...thing. It’s not much but I bought them the second largest empty plot so they can have a big big mansion one day :D Well, maybe not them because they’ll most likely be dead, but their descendants can enjoy it; and they’ll be part of them, right? Also, yay for cheap custom stuff! I can’t stand it when my sims houses don’t look like they jumped out of an IKEA cataloge, God only knows why I chose to do a legacy. Moving on!
4. So they settled in and had their first breakfast of many. I like to think this speech bubble means: “Don’t worry Alii, I still love you even though you’ve made me into a pixelated man and forced me to live in a box with no floor.” Which is good, ‘cause he’s going to have to get used to it.
5. Straight away Stu was scouring the paper for a job so he could maybe someday actually install a floor. No education career track, but there was gamer which suits the real life Stu to a T and so he took it. I was going to say something here about the pie chart being upside down and Stu being stupid ‘cause that’s not how to read the paper. Then I realised the paper is folded in half and it all makes sense. Who’s stupid NOW? ¬¬
6. And Alii was sent straight to the garden. I figured there was no point in geting her a job if she’s just going to be a baby machine so she can sell garden produce instead. Good thinking Batman. :D
7. So, our larrrrvelyBluewater Village neighbours decided to come welcome us. How nice! Except for the fact that I’ve never liked the Jaquets, and the first thing they did was gossip about me. I am not impressed. They would do well to remember that I CAN use BoolProp on their lot, as well as instrunments of torture.
8. They day pretty much consisted of this; Gilbert being a general fool and trying to talk to everyone And Malcolm desperately trying to forget that he was among commoners, although I don’t think drinking an instant meal really helped with that. What fun stuff, not.
9. Although I think we all know the night was filled with fun stuff. And lullabies. :D
10. First thing in the morning I sent Alii off to tend to her plants so we can have lots of nice money for when the baby arrives, as it is they only have about 100 simoleans; nowhere near enough. And of course, being the sloppy outgoing Libra she is she didn’t bother to get changed before venturing into the garden. You go girl, give those gossipers more ammunition! I’ve never been so proud.
11. Of course Stu, being a big manly man, had to go off to his job as a n00b in the dirtiest car known to simkind. He’s very good at being a noob in real life though, so no worries for his simself really. Is it just me or does anyone else wonder why there’s a handprint on that car? Been some kinky goings on mebbeh?
12. And our big manly man of a noob returned home with a promotion and a bonus. Yaaaaay! That pretty much set the course for the next few days. Here’s how it went down:
19. Did I ever mention that The Sims has put me off kids entirely? Look at her. LOOK AT HER! That does not look fun, even in a game. I think I’ll grow my babies in a tube or something, much better idea than labour. But anyway...
20. Into the world came Arianna Costello! A little girl with exactly her dads colouring: lightest skintone, brown hair and light blue eyes. The name Arianna is a variant of Ariadne (Greek) and means “most holy’ silver”. Quite fitting seeing as her father’s surname was Dos-Anjos, Portuguese for “of the angels”.
21. Speaking of her father, he was sent to skilling to get more promotions and more money. Because who doesn’t love money? And I also decided with Arianna’s birth that each generation will have at least 3 babies and first born male inherits. Just for giggles. So we need us some more moolah for the extensions to the box that will be necessary.
22. Stu also took over the gardening for reasons that will become apparent in the next slide. Both he and Alii have silver gardening badges but I always miss the doodads. It is a constant source of annoyance to me.
23. Blue neck sick and face-toilet glitching can only mean one thing! Alii is indeed expecting again and this pregnancy is so far really hard on her. Poor thing, I’d normally just maxmotives her way through this.
24. Amongst all the near deaths and skilling it was time for Arianna’s birthday, yaaaaay! Stu is by far my most photogenic sim ever, and this picture is incredibly cute. :D
26. In a poof of confetti little Arianna was now even harder to take care of. :D She’s a Gemini 4/7/7/6/3 And absolutely aodrable! But even so, I think I’ll have my sim encourage her into squeezing out a few more niceness points when she’s older.
27. That night Alii rolled a want for a job in the oceanography career track and I thought: Why not? It would certainly be a lot easier than trying to maintain the garden and keep everyone alive, plus she’d get maternity pay. Although I can’t imagine that chumming fish is the nicest job for a pregnant lady, what with the heightened sense of smell and all. Still, she wanted it! Although it forced me to do something I had never done before, and had been dreading since deciding to do this legacy.
28. The nanny. Dun dundun! Who knows what horror stories await me as she wanders in to my sims cosy little box of a home, I’ll have to keep an incredibly close eye on her.
29. -insert shocked face here- This was the first thing she did, interact with the toddler! No baked alaska fires, no chilling out reading the newspaper, straight to work! I think I’ve fallen in love.
30. BUT THEN SHE TOOK OUR MONEY. That sly cow, getting all pally with the kid just to steal from her when her back is turned. Nanny I curse you and your stupid walrus nose!
31. Thankfully Alii returned home not long after Stu had left for work so I could send the evil thieving nanny on her way. She also got a promotion, see how much happier she is about it than Stu? That’s ‘cause she’s awesome and he’s not. ;D
32. I didn’t really get pictures of Arianna’s training doodads once again due to my general crappiness, but her first word was mummy. :D
33. And I also missed the actual popping, strike me down! But here’s the first bit of bump and LOOK WHERE SHE IS. I do not set this up I swear, those instant meals must have some sort of baby growing hormone in them. Either that or Alii just really really likes popping in the kitchen.
34. Arianna was due to grow up that afternoon so Stu set to teaching her her last skill, walking. They are the sweetest farther/daughter duo I have ever seen. She constantly follows him around and he’s always snuggling her. I love my little virtual family. :3
35. A DOODAD! AN ACTUAL DOODAD! I’m a fast learner eh? This is also probably as close as I’m ever going to get to a family picture seeing as that’s where Alii ALWAYS is. Not that I can blame her, this pregnancy is really plumetting her needs.
36. As scheduled that afternoon Arianna was taken to her cake. Alii was present but I didn’t want her big fat belly in the pictures. Just kidding, she was just stood off to the side so didn’t really fit in.
38. Aaaand I missed the jumping. But here she is after a little clothing change, looking all angelic. Looks like I chose the right name for her eh?
39. Finally, Alii found a new place to pop. :D Although that bump is looking rather on the small side, perhaps it’s time to switch to actual food rather than Red Bull for dinner.
40. Arianna’s first day of school was a snowday, lucky thing. So seeing as her house is pretty much empty she set about making a snowman. Yet MORE evidence of how cute and angelic she is. Favourite. Sim. Ever.
41. Oh. Okay so maybe she isn’t all as angelic as she seems. I’ll have to keep an eye on this one methinks, and also have Alii pump some nice points into her. Can’t be having no evil sims in the first generation.
42. Yet another promotion picture for Stu, and surprise surprise he looks incredibly bored with the whole affair.
43. Even the fact that he’s just earned 5,000 simoleans doesn’t crack a smile from him. It’s like his teenage ‘whatever’-ness never went away. But here’s what I love...
44. “A hug from my daughter after a hard day’s pwning the n00bs??! SQUEE!” I told you, these two absolutely adore each other, I almost can’t stand it. SO MUCH CUTE ALL AT ONCE.
45. Then some stuff happened, then Alii went into labour. In a whole new place!
47. And then baby number two... WAIT. What are you doing? Don’t you DARE be handing that baby off!! Alii! Alii?!
48. Sigh. Into the world came Alisa and Amadora. Two MORE girls with exactly their father’s colouring. So that’s twins, a boy still needed, and no genetics from my sim passed on. Alisa is a variant of Alicia meaning “great happiness”. Amadorais a variant of Amadore meaning “gift of love”. So their names are sweet enough but UGH! TWINS! I think I need a break. So this is where I shall leave you, keep your eyes peeled for chapter two shall be with you very shortly! In which I go slightly insane from trying to look after twins and have an heir. Good times!
