Green Peace
Green Peace Origins
• Green Peace was founded in 1971 by just a
small group of activists. Their original mission
was to stop nuclear testing on a small island
named Amchitka off the coast of Alaska.
• They then created the organization in order to
protect the environment on a larger scale.
• Green Peace has expanded immensely since
that first voyage, now having regional offices
  in 41 different countries.
Goals
• Green Peace’s missions range from protecting
oceans, forests, and their respective native
animals, to building a resistance to the
harmful greenhouse gases that cause global
  warming.
• Green Peace has 2.8 million members
worldwide and these members partake in
  many protests/demonstrations.
