2. Photoshop
From the prelim task to the actual product I have learnt a lot about Photoshop and
how to use it. I couldn’t use Photoshop before the course and now I can use all of
these tools on photo shop. But out of all these tools, 9 of them have the choice to
choose other tools, which will have more of a specific job such as this . Which can
be more useful then just having a brush for example.
A very useful tool and method, which helped me
a lot with most of my pictures I did for my
magazine is instead of using the rubber to remove
bits I didn’t need I used the lasso tool instead.
As you can see with the rubber even
with care, at close you can see the
imperfections whereas the lasso tool
perfect. And that’s why I chose to do
my pictures with this skill I learnt.

3. One of my favourites tools in Photoshop which I was shown is the colour
replacement brush, Its my favourite because it interesting to see normal things in
other colours, I was going to include things that were different in my magazine
but I didn’t think it looked professional enough.
If I was going to do another magazine but for a younger
audience, regardless of what was the contents was I
would probably use this tool, especially if it was a little
kids magazine.
I have also learned a lot
about font style and how From the original I have added a drop shadow, a bevel,
to make something standout. outer glow, a stroke and added a white colour filter.

4. Photography
In photography I learnt a lot about the
photography triangle, because I didn’t know
anything about cameras and with the
triangle it is very easy to understand and
work out what you need to do to the
camera to get the kind of photo your
wanting. For instance like this photo
underneath I needed to get enough light to
pick up the detail but not to much so that
there was a huge flash strike on the photo.
Before I took the photo I but the flash
on, quite a high aperture, quite a high ISO
and a moderate shutter speed I also got
close to it to really pick up some detail.
Aperture: Is the amount of light, which provides
either shallow or large depth of field.
Shutter Speed: Is the amount of time light enters
the camera to either freeze or blur motion
ISO: Is the light sensitivity of the sensor, which affects
detail and sharpness.
