2. Alan is an energetic, experienced Creative Director, but after years
in the business he still believes in one thing.
The power of an idea. That’s all that matters.
Although he started his career in what used to be called an ATL
agency, his desire for accountability and tangible results meant he
also became involved in Direct Marketing and Sales Promotion.
His CV spans ATL agencies like Dorland, JWT, Grey London, FCB
and McCann-Erickson. However closer examination also reveals
Integrated, DM and Sales Promotion shops such as Carlson and
Bates Communications.
He’s also skilled at building creative & production departments
from scratch - directing and growing them successfully.
in fact, in 2004 he did just that for Cheil. He walked onto a floor
that had just a desk and a telephone - but within two years he had
created a fully-integrated creative department that could handle
just about anything that was demanded of it: TV, Press, Digital,
Out of Home, Experiential, Packaging and Retail.
Alan has worked in the UK and Europe on both international and
local brands including: Samsung, L’Oreal, UPS, Canon, Microsoft,
Emirates Airlines, Mercedes-Banz, Vauxhall, The Economist,
British Airways, Gateway and GlaxoSmithKline.
He has dedicated his efforts to developing creative ideas and
strategies that are either cross-media or media-neutral.
Having ideas, writing and drawing them out, art directing or
designing them and sharing opportunities and getting the best out
his collaborators. That’s what he does best.
Now add to that his vast store of production knowledge in just
about everything from TV to digital and you can plainly see why he
fully embraces the description of an integrated creative.
