But that’s not all. For seven straight weeks
we will randomly select one weekly winner
of a $20 gift card! The stores and locations will change each week
and include popular destinations such as Best Buy, Sport Chek, Tim
Hortons and Chapters.
“How do I win these great prizes?” you ask. Simple! Follow us on
Twitter, Like us on Facebook or come see us in-person and receive
ballots each time you do any of the following:
1. On Twitter, tell us what you’re reading using the hashtag
#aplteens. Get a bonus ballot if you RT any of our #aplteens
tweets! Follow us: @ajax_library.
2. On Facebook, tell us what you’re reading by commenting on our
contest-related posts. Get bonus ballots if you Share and/or Like

3. Visit any of the three branches and tell us in-person what you’re
reading.
There’s no limit to the number of times you can enter, and the more
ballots you receive, the more chances you have to win!
Open to youth age 12 to19 in Ajax. Weekly winners will be notified
and may pick up their prize immediately. All participants will be
entered into the draw for the Grand Prize iPad mini, but to claim the
prize, the winner must be present at a special Award Ceremony on
Monday, Aug. 25 at 7 p.m. at the Main Branch with celebrity guest
Fearless Fred Kennedy. (see sidebar for more info).
If none of the participants are present at the ceremony, everyone will
be put into a random draw for the Grand Prize and the winner will
be contacted shortly after the ceremony.

as long as you bring some attitude and

Sam has traveled to Denmark as a
member of the Canadian National
Hip Hop Team. performed at the
Opening Ceremonies at the 2010
Ontario Summer Games and danced in
Plaitwright’s “Dear Dancer” music video.

Calling all writers in Grades 9-12: submit your original works for the chance to
be published and win an iPad mini!

We’ve included a Comic Book category! For comic book lovers, you can now
write and illustrate a 1-2 page comic.
Contest Rules
All submissions must include the word ‘eureka’ but where you go from there
is up to you and your imagination. For a complete list of contest rules, pick up
the official flyer at any branch or visit our website.
If You Win
The winning submission in each category will be published in a book and
added to the Library’s collection. Winners will receive their own personal copy.
One of the three winners will be randomly selected to win a brand new iPad
mini, but you must be present at the Award Ceremony to be eligible. If no
winners are in attendance, all three will be put into a random draw for the
Grand Prize and the winner will be contacted shortly after the ceremony. The
other two winning entries will each be awarded one $75 gift card.

DIY program by creating a 3D paper Pikachu, a pixelated Minecraft sword,
a pool noodle lightsaber or by bringing an old t-shirt to trash and a face to
zombify! Or go wild. Throw everything into a geek blender and give your
Pikachu a mini Minecraft sword or turn yourself into a Zombie Jedi Master!
Everyone will vote for which anime movie is played on the big screen while
you work: Pokemon: The First Movie, Princess Mononoke or The Secret World
of Arrietty.
Free food will be provided and participants are encouraged to come dressed
up as their favourite pop culture character.
