Main Branch
Get REAL is a “movement of
likeminded students who work
tirelessly to change homophobic
language and attitudes.”
Since February 2011 this group of
university students has been running
workshops in junior high and high
schools. Their aim is to change
the face of what it means to be a
young person who stands up against
homophobia.
Ajax high school students are invited
to join the Get REAL team for a
unique presentation. They will speak
on their experiences working with
high schools and middle schools to
help change language and attitudes,
and screen their videos “To My Grade
7 Self” and “Sports Are For Everyone”,
which have been shown on national
news and reproduced by universities
and student groups from across
Canada, the UK, and Australia.

3. Book REview
book review
The Knife of Never Letting Go
by Patrick Ness
T
he Knife of Never Letting Go is the
first book in the Chaos Walking
series by Patrick Ness.
It is completely different from anything
one would expect in a novel. This story
is a real page-turner. It is told from the
perspective of a boy from a planet by
the name of New World, where there
are no females and all the males are
able to hear each other’s thoughts
(which is referred to as Noise).
In a month’s time, Todd Hewitt will
turn 13 years old, and will then be
regarded as a man, hence having
equal stature to the other males in his home settlement of
Prentisstown, all of whom are older than he is. Suddenly,
though, Todd is required to flee, with no explanation from his
“parents”, and is to run far, far away, for if he is caught, he is a
dead man.
This book narrates Todd’s journey of survival, in which he meets
people, makes enemies and commits crimes. It is an actionpacked, emotional, and tragic adventure, with danger lurking
around every corner and a cliff-hanger ending which leaves the
reader hungry for more.

video Game review
Grand Theft
Auto V
Grand Theft Auto
V is an open-world
game produced
by Rockstar
Entertainment for
Playstation 3 and Xbox 360. With
clean, to the point graphics, great
game play and a twisting story to
boot, it is an amazing game.
The player plays as Trevor, Franklin,
and Michael. This game meets
and exceeds expectations for what
it pulls off, and also has a killer
soundtrack featuring Snoop-Dogg,
Queen, Ice Cube, Rihanna and
many more.
Overall, this is one of the most fun
and fulfilling games out on the
market right now. I’d recommend it
to anyone who wants to have a fun
time while spending their winter
indoors.
