empezaba a cantar.
3. The Serenades in Mexico
Since the colonial times, the serenades romanticism flourished in every city where the
troubadours, inspired by the combination of youth and love, hanging their eyes on those
balconies of their loved ones, they sighed night hours waiting in stillness, until suddenly,
the heart started to play a guitar and the soul started to sing.
This Mexican tradition still stands, although many modern songs, although different and
modern ways of thinking, the key is always in the feeling, creativity and adrenaline that
means arriving to sing a serenade. The girl wakes up with the music, and starts screaming
silently in his room with excitement, her parents wake up and sentenced her not to show
even one arm over the balcony, then she has no other method that only turn on the light of
her bedroom as a sign to his lover that she has woken up and she accepts the musical gift.
Other young gentlemen bring besides flowers for his lady, a gift for her parents, to prevent
them from getting violent with that gun they have in their room. Some others, very
adventurous, climb the balcony like Romeo in Verona and reach up to deliver the famous
bouquet of flowers.
Whether with a mariachi band, a trio, with a friend and his guitar or just singing alone
“a cappella”, in any possible way, the lover wants to declare his love to the woman he
loves.
