A summary and evaluation of projects carried out September 11 and 12, 2010, in Syracuse, New York, as part of Acts of Kindness A-OK! Weekend. Organized by Women Transcending Boundaries.
3. “Butternut Style”: Neighbors and businesses along Butternut Street worked together to repaint signs, repair porches, clean front yards, and plant flower bulbs.
4. Eastern Farm Workers Association: Dozens of bags of clothing were collected and transported; racks were built, and storage was set up and organized.
12. InterFaith Works: Over two hundred cards offering hope and encouragement for those affected by the Gulf oil spill were created.
13. Islamic Society of Central New York: A luncheon was prepared and served to neighbors and volunteers; volunteers joined KJ’s Angels at the Oakwood Cemetery project.
14. Jowonio School: A children’s labyrinth was constructed on the property.
27. University United Methodist Church: A community breakfast was held for neighbors; children’s activities included baking cookies and delivering them to volunteers at a firehouse.
28. Vet Farms in Cicero: Many pounds of vegetables were harvested with the help of new immigrants, who were the recipients of some of the food.
29. West Side Learning Center: Several classrooms and a hallway were painted.

31. The Rahma Clinic received state certification and will be able to offer free health care to the uninsured by volunteer medical professionals.
