• The MA has a total value of 180 credits.
Students take six compulsory modules (15
credits each), two optional modules (15
credits each) and a dissertation (60
credits).

 Electives will be developed that include Arabic
cataloguing and Arabic information sources.
 Partnerships with Qatar university and HBKU.
 Guest lecturers from Qatar and the region.

7. Importance of the program in
Qatar
 Qatar National library is opening in 2015 and will
require around 150-200 librarians.
 Only library Masters program in Qatar.
 Previously LIS professionals options were limited to
distance education.

8. Costs
 2014 full time QAR 98,825.
 (approx. 27,000 US)
 Offer a generous range of scholarship opportunities for
successful candidates, awarded on the basis of
academic merit and financial need.
 These scholarships include both full tuition and
accommodation costs and some bursaries that cover
living costs.
