2. Introduction An animal caretaker is someone who takes care of animals, either when someone is away or just doesn't feel like taking care of there animals. The animals range from house hold pets to zoo animals!

3. Nature of Work Your job as an animal caretaker, is to make sure the animal’s pen, cage or, aquarium is clean. Also, you will need to check on there food/water supply and check to see if You will also need to check to see if the animals behavior has changed. You might have to administer medicine to the sick or injured animals.

4. Working Conditions This job can be totally inside or totally outside. You must be able to withstand unpleasant odors and animal waste, and not be afraid of getting dirty. You may have to lift heavy things , and be able to control large animals such as Great Danes or horses. There is a risk of getting scratched or bitten.

5. Training, Qualifications, and Advancement To get as high as you can in this career you have to have a masters degree, in order to work with zoo animals. Otherwise you can work in pet stores, shelters.

6. Job Outlook/ Employment The job security in the field of animal caretaking is very good. “I feel that after 5 to 10 years people tend to burn out!”- Adele In this field there are not many opportunities in this field, just because so many people are interested in it!

7. Earnings The earnings of an animal caretaker in a year range from $16,000 to $32,000. The amount per hour is $7 to $15.

8. Uses of Technology in Career The use of technology in Animal Caretaking career are… Computers- They use computers to help keep track of there daily jobs and animals that are coming in and out of the building(s). The computers help organize the animals, help the animals get adopted. Also it helps, people know what jobs they are supposed to do. Advancements in Heath Sciences- Advances in health sciences allow the animal caretakers to heal animals faster and diagnose them.Also they can heal the animals faster and that allows them to be released with the other animals of there kind. Training Methods-It helps the animal caretakers to give the animals more enrichment. It helps this career by allowing the animal care takers to show animals off to the public.

9. Summary This career is very appealing to me because, I love working with animals even though they are a bit unpredictable. I love volunteering, especially to help animals who can’t help them selves. I also like the fact that I have a lot job security. I also like the fact that you can become a zookeeper! This career dose relate to my personality results.
