GenderRole of filmmaking in the Cross Curricular Content section of PDHPE Syllabus Filmmaking plays a major role in all aspects of the PDHPE Cross Curricula Content, allowing students to express on views and creatively respond to content being taught
Role of filmmaking in the ICT section of PDHPE Syllabus Videos/filmmaking can be implemented within the learning environment in PDHPE as an effective cognitive tool as they can be used to establish prior knowledge, to introduce a new topic, to summarise a major topic or to reinforce learning. The PDHPE Years 7–10 Syllabus has included the following ICT skills in the essential content all of which can be utilized through film making: ,[object Object]
Import, mailmerge and reformat data/fields
Demonstrate an understanding of ethical issues in the use of ICT
Generate specific reports with regard to ethical issues, e.g. print without address and details

Teachers + Books
= Learning and Education
The ‘NEW’ formula of learning and education
Technology + Education
= Independent Learning and Education
‘A Vision of K-12 Students Today ‘A vision of K-12 students today’ effectively conveys that technology has a significant influence on education and students’ motivation and willingness to learn. Students living in the 21st century are heavily dependent on technology as it is an integral part of their lives. By encorporating technology in education encourages students to be more engaged and interested in the classroom. It also provides avenue for students’ creativity (creating games/activities), personal interpretations (health scenarios)and independent/collaborative learning (team sports). This is evident in the ICT cross curriculum content for PDHPE as students enhance their ability to use information and communication technologies in health and physical activity contexts.
At the beginning of the short film the audience is presented with written text outlining the benefits associated and positive outcomes associated with the use of technology in the classroom. It also suggests that technology allows students’ to gain a deep understanding of the content that is being taught and to develop as creative, independent learners.
The utilization of captions held by a vast demographic of students, effectually expresses the STUDENTS EMOTIONS, THOUGHTS and AMBITIONS without the use of dialogue, through the expressions on their faces and the emotive words written on their pieces of paper.
