2. UPAT Programme
Objective
To offer the extensive planning knowledge and
experience of ISOCARP members to provide expert
and independent advice to local and regional
authorities and communities in specific urban or
regional topics.
3. UPAT Programme
Topics
UPATs relate to any topic or assignment within City
and Regional Planning in any of the areas of
expertise of the ISOCARP members.
4. UPAT Programme
Team
A UPAT is a tailored team with six to eight ISOCARP
members with a Team Leader, a UPAT Rapporteur and
two young planning professionals.
ISOCARP is able to organise tailor made UPATs for
specific tasks and topics.
5. UPAT Programme
Team selection
ISOCARP publishes a detailed “Call for Experts” and
forms a team with both experienced practitioners
and scientists as well as talented young planning
professionals.
6. UPAT Programme
Process
In a one week workshop, the team interacts with the
local actors and out of an intensive working process,
generates a public presentation and a technical
report, with proposals and recommendations
tackling the selected topic.
