Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) was established in 1995 as a joint venture between the Government of India and Government of National Capital Territory of Delhi to implement and operate the Delhi Metro. DMRC aims to provide a world-class metro system to the whole of Delhi by 2021 without requiring government support by operating on commercial principles. It has implemented various modern technologies like automatic fare collection and advanced train control systems to ensure safety and reliability. DMRC has become a trendsetter for metro systems across South Asia.
