   The Missing Link
The Loss of Universal Identity of Mankind

Human beings, irrespective of their colors, creeds and nationalities and
religions, need to be reminded that they are the sons and daughters of
Adam and the Eve. The “Flood of Noah” had dispersed and relocated
them in different geo-environmental zones which influenced their
appearances, their languages, their life styles and ultimately their
beliefs and their faiths too. I do not find myself prepared for a minute to
believe that the Muslims, the Jews, the Christians, the Hindus and the
Buddhists are justified in behaving like enemies of each other only
because they practice different religions. Religions are nothing but
different sets of Divine Manuals regarding an individual’s “conduct of
day-to-day business of life” influencing every aspect of human behavior
in this world. Does the God, who has created this universe and whatever
is in it, depend on His ow n creation to impose His will in the name of
religion on mankind, by force? He has all the power in the universe to
do that Himself. But He did not opt for that. His last message Quran,
through his last messenger Muhammad (PBUH) categorically and
strictly prohibits that. Islam is a religion that truly and literally means
PEACE. Muslims are allowed to go to war with a set of exemplary
precautionary instructions only when war is extremely necessary and
unavoidable to maintain and create a genuine environment of peace. If
this is true and it is true then why are the Muslims treated like enemies
of the non-Muslims and the Muslims treat the non- Muslims as their
enemies? Why they are suspicious of the intentions of each other? It is
ironic that a “Cruel Inhuman System of Exploitation” has been imposed
on the people of the Muslim countries internally by a “Group of
Exploiters” in the name of secularism, moderation, toleration and
“Unregulated Free Economy” with the blessings of their “External
Supporters” who are obviously justified in doing so in the strategic
interest of their respective countries. Majority of the people in the
Muslim countries are helpless and the only weapon available to them is
frustration visibly dominated by hatred for their rulers, politicians,
bureaucrats, businessmen, army generals and the foreign heads of
states and the governments who support them. The most genuine
embarrassing question, therefore, is how to put an end to this
exploitation and consequently the frustration and hatred w hich is an
obvious outcome of the realities on ground?

THE MISSING LINK
“THE LOSS OF UNIVERSAL IDENTITY OF MANKIND”

                              By: Zahid Hussain Khalid

The information highway has turned the global village into an enlightened informed village.
Now, the information travels faster than the light. It takes just split of a second to
communicate with hundreds of millions of people through regional and global satellite
channels and internet. News and email alerts from different channels and platforms provide
news updates and expert views and analyses on the subjects of an individual’s choice not in
minutes but in seconds. So, in a world that is so well connected and well-informed what
does one need is ONLY “Caution in Communication Approach.”
Human beings, irrespective of their c olors, creeds and nationalities, need to be reminded
that they are the sons and daughters of Adam and the Eve. The “Flood of Noah” had
dispersed and relocated them in different geo-environmental zones which inf luenced their
appearances, their languages, their life styles and ultimately their beliefs and their faiths
too.
Let me explain this through an example: A couple had five sons and daughters. The four
sons and daughters left the parents and relocated to new unknown continents. They, in
their struggle for survival, did not find any time or the necessary means to get in touch with
their parents and each other. They got married and raised families without looking back and
thinking about their roots. Their children had no idea from w here their parents had come.
And this is how they lost their “Genuinely Origina l Ide ntity as Members of a Single
Family” which was expected to remind them of Adam and Eve, their Great -Great-Great
Grand Father and Mother binding them together as brothers and sisters.
The mankind has no sense of this loss!!!
Forget about that loss. Ironically, majority of the people in the world do not know the
names of their great and great-great grand parents!!! The people, living in different
countries and in different parts of the world have t heir respective “national and historically
yet-to-be documented and authenticated cross-ethnic identities.” Unfortunately, the most
important identity that they are oblivious of is their “Divine Universal Identity” as “Members
of a Single Family.”
Once, we prepare ourselves to admit that we are “Members of a Single Family” created by
the Only Creator through Adam and Eve, no matter where on earth we live, no matter what
is the color of our skin, no matter which language we speak, no matter which religious faith
or the ideology we follow, only then we will realize how difficult it is to hate or hurt a
member of our own family.
Having said that, I do not find myself prepared for a minute to believe that the Muslims, the
Jews, the Christians, the Hindus and t he Buddhists are justified in behaving like enemies of
each other only because they practice different religions. Religions are nothing but different
sets of Divine Manuals regarding an individual’s “conduct of day-to-day business of life”
influencing every aspect of human behavior in this world. Does the God, who has created
this universe and w hatever is in it, depend on His own creation to impose His will in the
name of religion on mankind, by force? He has all the power in the universe to do that
Himself. But He did not opt for that. His last message Quran, through his last messenger
Muhammed (PBUH) categorically and strictly prohibits that. Islam is a religion that truly and
literally means PEACE. Muslims are allowed to go to war with a set of exemplary
precautionary instructions only when war is extremely necessary and unavoidable to
maintain and create a genuine environment of peace. If this is true and it is true then why
are the Muslims treated like enemies of the non-Muslims and the Muslims treat the non-
Muslims as their enemies? Why they are suspicious of the intentions of each other? When
we look at different codes popularly known as “constitutions” for the conduct of “the day -to-
day business of life” in different “religious zones” namely Muslim, Christian, Jew ish, Hindu
and Buddhist, we find that the Islamic code of conduct, with certain religious, social and
economic exceptions in personal and business relationships, is dominantly reflected in the
Christian, Jewish, Hindu and Buddhist religious zones through politically rather
constitutionally administered social and economic policies and systems. The Muslim zone
has also created its own administrative political, social and economic manuals (read
constitutions) as their respective codes of conduct but only for the poor, weak and
helpless people either living below poverty line or engaged in a daily struggle to keep their
body and soul together. Constitution is just a piece of paper for rulers in the Muslim
countries.
Islam is unconsciously practiced in the non-Muslim zones as far as the rights and
responsibilities of an individual and a state are concerned. It does not exist and is not visible
in “day-to-day business of life” in the Muslim countries anymore. Islam is proudly owned
and practiced by the Muslims to the extent of following the known guidelines regarding an
individual’s appearance, prayers and Islamic rituals but in reality the real Muslims are
socially, politically and economically NO MORE visible anywhere!!!
The non-Muslims do not believe in Islam but surprisingly and visibly they are far better
Muslims than the Muslims themselves!!! How?
The rulers in the non-Muslim religious zones are accountable to their laws and their
courts. The Muslim rulers are not. Islam declares that rulers are not masters. They are
servants of the ruled. How many Muslim rule rs believe and adhere to that?
The bureaucrats of the non-Muslim countries are public servants and the bureaucrats in
the Muslim countries have turned into Masters and are treated and hated like Monsters.
They are inaccessible, irresponsive, irresponsible and unaccountable.
Can a bureaucrat in a non-Muslim developed country behave like that?
The laws in the non-Muslim countries are uniform both for the rulers and the ruled,
affluent and the poor alike. But, in the Muslim countries laws are only for the helpless,
weak and poor people. The rulers, the political leaders, the generals, the bureaucrats
and the business tycoons defy laws and treat the courts with contempt. Islam and laws
of civilized country treat the ruler and the ruled as equals.
Are the rule rs and people treated a like in the Muslim countries?
The non-Muslim countries have the genuine education policies, labour policies, health
policies, defence policies, media policies, investment policies, trade policies, industrial
policies and foreign policies with a clear understanding that voters will not vote for a
person but the policies of the party to which that person belongs. A party or a person
can fool the voters once but can not do it twice. In the Muslim countries the policies are
made to fleece the people and plunder the resources of the country.
Is it thinkable in a civilized non-Muslim country?
In the non-Muslim countries the political, military, economic and diplomatic decisions are
taken in the best national interest through consensus. In the Muslim countries, the
monarchs and the dictators issue proclamations and ordinances either to please their
“external patrons” or to perpetuate their rule and plunder the resources of their
countries with “conditional external moral, political, diplomatic and economic support”.
Is it even imaginable in a civilized developing or a developed non-Muslim
   country?

In a scenario like this from where does the religious differences come in and what is the
demand of diplomatic sanity? It is ironic that a “Cruel Inhuma n System of Exploitation”
has been imposed on the people of the Muslim countries internally by a “ Group of
Exploiters” in the name of secularism, moderation, toleration and “Unregulate d Free
Economy” with the blessings of their “External Supporters” w ho are obviously justified
in doing so in the strategic interest of their respective countries. Majority of the people in
the Muslim countries are helpless and the only weapon available to them is frustration
visibly dominated by hatred for their rulers, politicians, bureaucrats, businessmen, army
generals and the foreign heads of states and the governments who support them. The most
genuine embarrassing question, therefore, is how to put an end to this exploitation and
consequently the frustration and hatred which is an obvious outcome of the realities on
ground?
It is not that the sensible people an d heads of the states and governments of the developed
and developing non-Muslim countries do not have this question in the back of their minds.
As a matter of fact, President Bush himself had asked on several occasions, immediately
after 9/11, as to why do the Muslims hate the Americans. It is wrong to say that the
Muslims hate the Americans. They do not hate the Americans. They hate the American
policies which, according to their belief, have almost destroyed the very moral foundation of
the social, econo mic, political and military institutions in almost all the Muslim countries. An
inaccessible, irresponsible, irresponsive, arrogant, inefficient, incompetent, corrupt, and
unjust system of political, social, economic and corporate governance to the extent of
extreme cruelty has shattered the nerves and negatively influenced the patience of even
those Muslims w ho are genuine moderates. The words moderation and toleration are now
considered and ridiculed as the most undesirable utterances of demagogues.
Why is it so and what is the way out?
To answer that, one has to look at the Tria ngle of Trust formed by affluent individuals and
nations (Donors/Lende rs); poor, under-developed and under-privileged people and
countries (Rec ipie nts); and the organizations through which donors and lenders try their
very best to help the recipients in whatever way they can (De livery Systems / Channels
or Inte rnational Humanitarian Organizations). This Triangle of Trust owes its formation
to a desire for addressing the “genuine grievances and the crying social and economic
iniquities” in the deprived, under-developed and under-privileged countries of the world.
There are different perceptions regarding the three.
It is generally believed that the donors and lenders provide the humanitarian social and
economic assistance, aid and loans to only those countries and rulers who blindly
support and follow their strategic policies without questioning the intentio ns of the
donors and the lenders and analyzing the repercussions of the dictated policies. As such,
in majority of the Muslim countries, the intentions of the donors and lenders are doubted
by the recipients and the purpose of donations, aid and loans is, to some extent,
considered to be partially served through an inv isible engineered element of reciprocity
predominantly in the interest of the donors and against the interest of the recipients.
It is usually perceived that the donors and lenders have no idea about the genuine
needs of the recipients as such, according to analysts, there is not even a single we ll
focused human and natural resource potential and pe rforma nce based study
identifying self-reliance programs with implementation timeline for the deprived
and under-privileged people living below poverty line in different parts of the world.
It is now almost an acknowledged reality that almost 80% of the funds available f or
Social and Economic Development, Poverty Allev iation and United Nation’s Millennium
Development Goals are evidently spent on politically motivated social and economic
development projects; on disbursal adm inistration; on outdated, inconclusive and
irrelevant research papers; on majority of experts who have no idea about the social
and economic realities on ground in different parts of the world; and on professional
credential presentation and exchange platforms like wor kshops, seminars and
conferences which definitely provide glimpses of the theoretical wonders of the world
instead of practical solutions w ith realistic implementation strategy and its requisite
timeline. Most of the remaining 20% funds are allegedly embezzled and
misappropr iated. Consequently, the Delivery Systems / Channels and International
Humanitarian Organizations have lost their moral and ethical credibility.
Now, the challenge confronting those who stand at the three corners of the Triangle of Trust
is how to address the above perceptions for compassionate interaction founded on mutual
trust.
A detailed analysis of pre and post 9/11 scenarios, presented to the President of Pakistan in
January 2002 after its approval by a team formed by the President Secretariat, identified
the follow ing areas of concern which are not confined only to Pakistan but are visible in
almost all Muslim countries:
Lack of Strategic National Consensus – Political Front
Activities of the Religious Lobbies – Diplomatic Front a nd
         Communication Deadlock – Media Front
The cause and effect analysis clearly indicates that the Lack of Consensus o n internal f ront
has created a Communication Deadlock between governments and certain influential
segments of masses and their self-proclaimed religious political leaders in the Muslim
countries which is clearly visible in regional and international media providing a position of
privilege to confronting extremist and fanatic religious groups and lobbies both in the
Muslim and the non-Muslim countries. These religious groups are taking full advantage of
the social, economic and political frustration of the deprived and underprivileged people of
the Muslim countries. The consensus, therefore, can only be arrived at by declaring an all
out war against the follow ing social and economic evils that have eroded the confidence of
the people in the overall “State Management System” in almost all the Muslim countries by
converting the globally acknow ledged visible strengths of the elements of their national
power into psychologically irritating weaknesses.
        Illiteracy and Ignorance
        Unemployment
        Poverty
        Internal and e xternal reliance
        Diseases
        Corruption
Injustice and violation of human rights
        Political, ethnic and religious prejudices
       and
        Sectarianism and Te rrorism
The above social and economic evils are partially identif ied by the UN Millennium
Development Goals. Billions of dollars are being spent annually but the situation is day by
day deteriorating to an alarming extent.
How to convert this environment of confrontation into a movement for understanding and
cooperation? The world leaders have a responsibility to declare a genuine war against the
identif ied social and economic evils. This war will automatically put an end to sectarianism,
fanaticism and terrorism. The proposed Agenda of the war against social and economic evils
will consist of the following five steps:
A proper evaluation of the natural and human resource potential of the least developed
countries in general and the Muslim countries in particular
A real and im partial evaluation of the social and economic indicators to determine the
prec ise extent of their self-reliance and reliance on others.
The declaration of a Strategic Plan consisting of workable options for bilateral, regional
and global cooperation to fill and / or narrow the artificial br idgeable gap between
natural and human resource potential and social and economic performance.
The creation of unhindered channels for the flow of human and natural resources from
human and natural resource rich countries to natural and human resource poor
   countries.
The authorization of International Court of Justice to try the rulers, politicians,
bureaucrats, army generals and business tycoons who are responsible for the creation
and perpetuation of the “Systems of Inhuman Exploitation” in the under -developed and
     developing countries.
It is the responsibility of the world leaders to take immediate steps in this direction because
the delay in the declaration of war against social and economic evils will make the world an
increasingly unpleasant and alarmingly unsafe place to live.

The Missing Llink

  • 1. ZHK 2004 The Missing Link The Loss of Universal Identity of Mankind Human beings, irrespective of their colors, creeds and nationalities and religions, need to be reminded that they are the sons and daughters of Adam and the Eve. The “Flood of Noah” had dispersed and relocated them in different geo-environmental zones which influenced their appearances, their languages, their life styles and ultimately their beliefs and their faiths too. I do not find myself prepared for a minute to believe that the Muslims, the Jews, the Christians, the Hindus and the Buddhists are justified in behaving like enemies of each other only because they practice different religions. Religions are nothing but different sets of Divine Manuals regarding an individual’s “conduct of day-to-day business of life” influencing every aspect of human behavior in this world. Does the God, who has created this universe and whatever is in it, depend on His ow n creation to impose His will in the name of religion on mankind, by force? He has all the power in the universe to do that Himself. But He did not opt for that. His last message Quran, through his last messenger Muhammad (PBUH) categorically and strictly prohibits that. Islam is a religion that truly and literally means PEACE. Muslims are allowed to go to war with a set of exemplary precautionary instructions only when war is extremely necessary and unavoidable to maintain and create a genuine environment of peace. If this is true and it is true then why are the Muslims treated like enemies of the non-Muslims and the Muslims treat the non- Muslims as their enemies? Why they are suspicious of the intentions of each other? It is ironic that a “Cruel Inhuman System of Exploitation” has been imposed on the people of the Muslim countries internally by a “Group of Exploiters” in the name of secularism, moderation, toleration and “Unregulated Free Economy” with the blessings of their “External Supporters” who are obviously justified in doing so in the strategic interest of their respective countries. Majority of the people in the Muslim countries are helpless and the only weapon available to them is frustration visibly dominated by hatred for their rulers, politicians, bureaucrats, businessmen, army generals and the foreign heads of states and the governments who support them. The most genuine embarrassing question, therefore, is how to put an end to this exploitation and consequently the frustration and hatred w hich is an obvious outcome of the realities on ground? Zahid Hussain Khalid International Media Sales / SUN&FZ Associates ZHK 2004
  • 2. THE MISSING LINK “THE LOSS OF UNIVERSAL IDENTITY OF MANKIND” By: Zahid Hussain Khalid The information highway has turned the global village into an enlightened informed village. Now, the information travels faster than the light. It takes just split of a second to communicate with hundreds of millions of people through regional and global satellite channels and internet. News and email alerts from different channels and platforms provide news updates and expert views and analyses on the subjects of an individual’s choice not in minutes but in seconds. So, in a world that is so well connected and well-informed what does one need is ONLY “Caution in Communication Approach.” Human beings, irrespective of their c olors, creeds and nationalities, need to be reminded that they are the sons and daughters of Adam and the Eve. The “Flood of Noah” had dispersed and relocated them in different geo-environmental zones which inf luenced their appearances, their languages, their life styles and ultimately their beliefs and their faiths too. Let me explain this through an example: A couple had five sons and daughters. The four sons and daughters left the parents and relocated to new unknown continents. They, in their struggle for survival, did not find any time or the necessary means to get in touch with their parents and each other. They got married and raised families without looking back and thinking about their roots. Their children had no idea from w here their parents had come. And this is how they lost their “Genuinely Origina l Ide ntity as Members of a Single Family” which was expected to remind them of Adam and Eve, their Great -Great-Great Grand Father and Mother binding them together as brothers and sisters. The mankind has no sense of this loss!!! Forget about that loss. Ironically, majority of the people in the world do not know the names of their great and great-great grand parents!!! The people, living in different countries and in different parts of the world have t heir respective “national and historically yet-to-be documented and authenticated cross-ethnic identities.” Unfortunately, the most important identity that they are oblivious of is their “Divine Universal Identity” as “Members of a Single Family.” Once, we prepare ourselves to admit that we are “Members of a Single Family” created by the Only Creator through Adam and Eve, no matter where on earth we live, no matter what is the color of our skin, no matter which language we speak, no matter which religious faith
  • 3. or the ideology we follow, only then we will realize how difficult it is to hate or hurt a member of our own family. Having said that, I do not find myself prepared for a minute to believe that the Muslims, the Jews, the Christians, the Hindus and t he Buddhists are justified in behaving like enemies of each other only because they practice different religions. Religions are nothing but different sets of Divine Manuals regarding an individual’s “conduct of day-to-day business of life” influencing every aspect of human behavior in this world. Does the God, who has created this universe and w hatever is in it, depend on His own creation to impose His will in the name of religion on mankind, by force? He has all the power in the universe to do that Himself. But He did not opt for that. His last message Quran, through his last messenger Muhammed (PBUH) categorically and strictly prohibits that. When we look at different codes popularly known as “constitutions” for the conduct of “the day -to- day business of life” in different “religious zones” namely Muslim, Christian, Jew ish, Hindu and Buddhist, we find that the Islamic code of conduct, with certain religious, social and economic exceptions in personal and business relationships, is dominantly reflected in the Christian, Jewish, Hindu and Buddhist religious zones through politically rather constitutionally administered social and economic policies and systems. The Muslim zone has also created its own administrative political, social and economic manuals (read constitutions) as their respective codes of conduct but only for the poor, weak and helpless people either living below poverty line or engaged in a daily struggle to keep their body and soul together. Constitution is just a piece of paper for rulers in the Muslim countries. Islam is unconsciously practiced in the non-Muslim zones as far as the rights and responsibilities of an individual and a state are concerned. It does not exist and is not visible in “day-to-day business of life” in the Muslim countries anymore. Islam is proudly owned and practiced by the Muslims to the extent of following the known guidelines regarding an individual’s appearance, prayers and Islamic rituals but in reality the real Muslims are socially, politically and economically NO MORE visible anywhere!!! The non-Muslims do not believe in Islam but surprisingly and visibly they are far better Muslims than the Muslims themselves!!! How?
  • 4. The rulers in the non-Muslim religious zones are accountable to their laws and their courts. The Muslim rulers are not. Islam declares that rulers are not masters. They are servants of the ruled. How many Muslim rule rs believe and adhere to that? The bureaucrats of the non-Muslim countries are public servants and the bureaucrats in the Muslim countries have turned into Masters and are treated and hated like Monsters. They are inaccessible, irresponsive, irresponsible and unaccountable. Can a bureaucrat in a non-Muslim developed country behave like that? The laws in the non-Muslim countries are uniform both for the rulers and the ruled, affluent and the poor alike. But, in the Muslim countries laws are only for the helpless, weak and poor people. The rulers, the political leaders, the generals, the bureaucrats and the business tycoons defy laws and treat the courts with contempt. Islam and laws of civilized country treat the ruler and the ruled as equals. Are the rule rs and people treated a like in the Muslim countries? The non-Muslim countries have the genuine education policies, labour policies, health policies, defence policies, media policies, investment policies, trade policies, industrial policies and foreign policies with a clear understanding that voters will not vote for a person but the policies of the party to which that person belongs. A party or a person can fool the voters once but can not do it twice. In the Muslim countries the policies are made to fleece the people and plunder the resources of the country. Is it thinkable in a civilized non-Muslim country? In the non-Muslim countries the political, military, economic and diplomatic decisions are taken in the best national interest through consensus. In the Muslim countries, the monarchs and the dictators issue proclamations and ordinances either to please their “external patrons” or to perpetuate their rule and plunder the resources of their countries with “conditional external moral, political, diplomatic and economic support”. Is it even imaginable in a civilized developing or a developed non-Muslim country? In a scenario like this from where does the religious differences come in and what is the demand of diplomatic sanity? It is ironic that a “Cruel Inhuma n System of Exploitation” has been imposed on the people of the Muslim countries internally by a “ Group of Exploiters” in the name of secularism, moderation, toleration and “Unregulate d Free Economy” with the blessings of their “External Supporters” w ho are obviously justified in doing so in the strategic interest of their respective countries. Majority of the people in the Muslim countries are helpless and the only weapon available to them is frustration visibly dominated by hatred for their rulers, politicians, bureaucrats, businessmen, army
  • 5. generals and the foreign heads of states and the governments who support them. The most genuine embarrassing question, therefore, is how to put an end to this exploitation and consequently the frustration and hatred which is an obvious outcome of the realities on ground? It is not that the sensible people an d heads of the states and governments of the developed and developing non-Muslim countries do not have this question in the back of their minds. As a matter of fact, President Bush himself had asked on several occasions, immediately after 9/11, as to why do the Muslims hate the Americans. It is wrong to say that the Muslims hate the Americans. They do not hate the Americans. They hate the American policies which, according to their belief, have almost destroyed the very moral foundation of the social, econo mic, political and military institutions in almost all the Muslim countries. An inaccessible, irresponsible, irresponsive, arrogant, inefficient, incompetent, corrupt, and unjust system of political, social, economic and corporate governance to the extent of extreme cruelty has shattered the nerves and negatively influenced the patience of even those Muslims w ho are genuine moderates. The words moderation and toleration are now considered and ridiculed as the most undesirable utterances of demagogues. Why is it so and what is the way out? To answer that, one has to look at the Tria ngle of Trust formed by affluent individuals and nations (Donors/Lende rs); poor, under-developed and under-privileged people and countries (Rec ipie nts); and the organizations through which donors and lenders try their very best to help the recipients in whatever way they can (De livery Systems / Channels or Inte rnational Humanitarian Organizations). This Triangle of Trust owes its formation to a desire for addressing the “genuine grievances and the crying social and economic iniquities” in the deprived, under-developed and under-privileged countries of the world. There are different perceptions regarding the three. It is generally believed that the donors and lenders provide the humanitarian social and economic assistance, aid and loans to only those countries and rulers who blindly support and follow their strategic policies without questioning the intentio ns of the donors and the lenders and analyzing the repercussions of the dictated policies. As such, in majority of the Muslim countries, the intentions of the donors and lenders are doubted by the recipients and the purpose of donations, aid and loans is, to some extent, considered to be partially served through an inv isible engineered element of reciprocity predominantly in the interest of the donors and against the interest of the recipients.
  • 6. It is usually perceived that the donors and lenders have no idea about the genuine needs of the recipients as such, according to analysts, there is not even a single we ll focused human and natural resource potential and pe rforma nce based study identifying self-reliance programs with implementation timeline for the deprived and under-privileged people living below poverty line in different parts of the world. It is now almost an acknowledged reality that almost 80% of the funds available f or Social and Economic Development, Poverty Allev iation and United Nation’s Millennium Development Goals are evidently spent on politically motivated social and economic development projects; on disbursal adm inistration; on outdated, inconclusive and irrelevant research papers; on majority of experts who have no idea about the social and economic realities on ground in different parts of the world; and on professional credential presentation and exchange platforms like wor kshops, seminars and conferences which definitely provide glimpses of the theoretical wonders of the world instead of practical solutions w ith realistic implementation strategy and its requisite timeline. Most of the remaining 20% funds are allegedly embezzled and misappropr iated. Consequently, the Delivery Systems / Channels and International Humanitarian Organizations have lost their moral and ethical credibility. Now, the challenge confronting those who stand at the three corners of the Triangle of Trust is how to address the above perceptions for compassionate interaction founded on mutual trust. A detailed analysis of pre and post 9/11 scenarios, presented to the President of Pakistan in January 2002 after its approval by a team formed by the President Secretariat, identified the follow ing areas of concern which are not confined only to Pakistan but are visible in almost all Muslim countries: Lack of Strategic National Consensus – Political Front Activities of the Religious Lobbies – Diplomatic Front a nd Communication Deadlock – Media Front The cause and effect analysis clearly indicates that the Lack of Consensus o n internal f ront has created a Communication Deadlock between governments and certain influential segments of masses and their self-proclaimed religious political leaders in the Muslim countries which is clearly visible in regional and international media providing a position of privilege to confronting extremist and fanatic religious groups and lobbies both in the Muslim and the non-Muslim countries. These religious groups are taking full advantage of the social, economic and political frustration of the deprived and underprivileged people of the Muslim countries. The consensus, therefore, can only be arrived at by declaring an all
  • 7. out war against the follow ing social and economic evils that have eroded the confidence of the people in the overall “State Management System” in almost all the Muslim countries by converting the globally acknow ledged visible strengths of the elements of their national power into psychologically irritating weaknesses. Illiteracy and Ignorance Unemployment Poverty Internal and e xternal reliance Diseases Corruption Injustice and violation of human rights Political, ethnic and religious prejudices and Sectarianism and Te rrorism The above social and economic evils are partially identif ied by the UN Millennium Development Goals. Billions of dollars are being spent annually but the situation is day by day deteriorating to an alarming extent. How to convert this environment of confrontation into a movement for understanding and cooperation? The world leaders have a responsibility to declare a genuine war against the identif ied social and economic evils. This war will automatically put an end to sectarianism, fanaticism and terrorism. The proposed Agenda of the war against social and economic evils will consist of the following five steps: A proper evaluation of the natural and human resource potential of the least developed countries in general and the Muslim countries in particular A real and im partial evaluation of the social and economic indicators to determine the prec ise extent of their self-reliance and reliance on others. The declaration of a Strategic Plan consisting of workable options for bilateral, regional and global cooperation to fill and / or narrow the artificial br idgeable gap between natural and human resource potential and social and economic performance. The creation of unhindered channels for the flow of human and natural resources from human and natural resource rich countries to natural and human resource poor countries. The authorization of International Court of Justice to try the rulers, politicians, bureaucrats, army generals and business tycoons who are responsible for the creation
  • 8. and perpetuation of the “Systems of Inhuman Exploitation” in the under -developed and developing countries. It is the responsibility of the world leaders to take immediate steps in this direction because the delay in the declaration of war against social and economic evils will make the world an increasingly unpleasant and alarmingly unsafe place to live.
