low key lighting and casted shadows which already gives the film a sinister
sensation. Furthermore threes a figure of a male which could be the killer
or the detective this adds a bit of mystery to the film which is an ideal
convention for a thriller. Also the mise-un-scene of and elevator going up
and the eerie sound of the wind and perhaps air conditioner and rattles of
chains adds to the thriller like sensation.

2. These shots show allot of thriller like convections such as low key lighting, eerie mise-un-
scene locations and settings such as and investigation and outside a house with a bloody
mattress. Props such as the blood covered mattress, police cars and clothing/costume such
as the cleaners kit covered it dirt and blood and police uniforms. All this symbolizes both a
thriller and crime investigation furthermore these aspects are all also sinister and dark
which help set a scary crime like atmosphere. The music during this opening sequence is
very low pitch and builds up slowly into a fast past which could hint that things get much
more chaotic and scary as the film progresses which at the same time the editing is fast
and there are many short cuts making it seem even more frantic making the audience feel
that this is both and action and thriller.
